About Us

That first Pride was a powerful occasion, with hundreds of people lining the streets of our county town for a colourful and vibrant march that firmly put queer liberation and joy front and centre.

From that first festival, something beautiful was born. Today, Roscommon Pride is an annual festival that takes place in August each year. From sensational drag performances to arts and cultural activities, Pride is an opportunity for people and families from the west of Ireland and beyond to forge new friendships, build community, and be inspired.

From its humble roots, Roscommon Pride has become something truly extraordinary. We now have year-round events for our community to stay connected. From our Bród Book Club to our ‘Meitheal’ social group, queer life in Roscommon has never been as exciting.

Roscommon Pride continues to go from strength to strength. From winning ‘Event of the Year’ at the 2025 GALAS to holding Roscommon’s first ever drag brunch, our festival and our community keeps on getting bigger and more colourful.

The importance of rural Pride can’t be underestimated. Ireland’s LGBTQIA+ community has come a long way, and yet, Pride remains a vital lifeline for queer communities. Our vision is of a world where LGBTQIA+ people can be themselves, wherever and whenever, without fear of violence or rejection. Until we reach that goal, Roscommon Pride will continue to provide spaces to help our communities thrive.

Not only is Pride a powerful act of protest in a world that continues to devalue queer lives, it’s also a chance to let our hair down – and that’s exactly what we’ll be doing at Roscommon Pride 2026.

Join us from 21st-23rd August – you won’t regret it.
